By accessing and using BankStatementLab (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Service.

BankStatementLab provides a service to convert bank statement PDFs to Excel and CSV formats. The Service uses data extraction technologies and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to process your documents. We strive to provide accurate results but do not guarantee 100% accuracy. It is your responsibility to verify converted data before use.

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities conducted under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not: (a) use the Service in a manner that violates applicable laws; (b) attempt to access unauthorized parts of the Service; (c) interfere with the operation of the Service; (d) use the Service to process data you do not have the right to process.

The Service operates on a credit system where 1 credit = 1 page processed. New users receive 5 credits on signup, then 5 credits each month. Unused credits do not roll over from month to month. For needs exceeding the free tier, paid plans will be available. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.

Under the European Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation), consumers normally benefit from a 14-day cooling-off period (right of withdrawal) for distance contracts. However, pursuant to Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and Article L221-28(13) of the French Consumer Code, you expressly acknowledge and agree that: (a) the Service constitutes digital content supplied on a non-tangible medium; (b) the performance of the Service begins immediately upon your request (by uploading a file or purchasing credits); and (c) by requesting immediate performance, you expressly waive your right of withdrawal. These three cumulative conditions result in the loss of the right of withdrawal. Additionally, the Service qualifies as a fully performed service within the meaning of the same provisions, as the conversion is completed instantly upon request. Consequently, no refund is available once the Service has been executed, whether for individual conversions or subscription plans. For subscription plans, no pro-rata refunds will be provided for partial months or unused credits. You may cancel your subscription at any time, but you will retain access until the end of your current billing period without entitlement to any refund. This policy complies with applicable European Union consumer protection laws and French national legislation.

You retain all rights to your uploaded files and converted data. BankStatementLab and its licensors retain all rights to the Service, including software, algorithms, user interface, and all content provided by BankStatementLab. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written permission.

We process your PDF files solely for the purpose of providing the conversion Service. All uploaded files (source PDFs and converted files) are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers 24 hours after upload. No exceptions are made to this automatic deletion policy.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. BankStatementLab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of converted data before using it for financial or accounting decisions.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, all provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a notification on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts. For any questions regarding these terms, contact us at legal@bankstatementlab.com.
