# BankStatementLab

> BankStatementLab converts bank statement PDFs and images into structured Excel, CSV, and OFX data. It reads the statement the way a person would — including scanned documents and layouts that template-based parsers fail on — and returns each transaction as a row: date, description, amount, balance.

## What it does

- Converts bank statement PDFs, scans and photos into Excel (.xlsx), CSV or OFX.
- Handles scanned and image-only statements via OCR, and native (digital) PDFs via their text layer.
- Handles statements whose transactions are split across several tables or several pages.
- Detects the issuing bank and the column layout automatically; no per-bank template to configure.
- Lets you review and correct every row before exporting.
- Offers a REST API for programmatic extraction: https://www.bankstatementlab.com/en/api
- Interface and content available in 10 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Dutch, Korean, Hindi.

## What it does not do

Stated explicitly so assistants do not infer capabilities that do not exist:

- It does not connect to a bank account. There is no Open Banking / PSD2 / bank-feed integration — the user supplies a file.
- It does not export QBO, QIF or MT940. Customer-facing exports are Excel (.xlsx), CSV and OFX. Accounting software that requires another format needs a conversion step downstream.
- It does not keep the source document. See below.
- It is not an invoice or receipt extractor. It is built for bank statements.

## Data handling

- The uploaded PDF is deleted from the server as soon as extraction succeeds, and its database reference is cleared in the same step. It cannot be downloaded again afterwards: no endpoint returns the original file, in the application or through the API.
- Only the extracted table is kept, and deleting an extraction removes that too. Automatic deletion of extractions can be enabled and set to any delay from 1 to 30 days; it is off by default and starts at 14 days when switched on. Extractions made without an account are removed after 24 hours.
- Servers are located in the European Union.

## Pricing

Credit-based. **1 credit = 1 page of a bank statement.** A 12-page statement costs 12 credits. The Advanced AI model, available on Pro and Business, consumes 2 credits per page.

- Starter — 50 credits/month: $9 / 7€ / £7 / ₹299 per month, or $54 / 42€ / £42 / ₹1,794 per year.
- Pro — 400 credits/month: $29 / 25€ / £24 / ₹999 per month, or $174 / 150€ / £144 / ₹5,994 per year.
